CENTRAL SALVAGE LTD’S COMPANY HISTORY
Northwest Industrial Sales was created by the brothers Michael and John O’Regan in 1975 in Kamloops, BC. The company was focused on the purchase and sale of scrap metal and used steel sales.

In 1983, the yard and assets were bought by the Brigden family. In the latter half of 1983, the Central Salvage Ltd location in Kamloops was founded by Michael and John to fulfill the scrap metal requirements of industrial clients. They soon began to build roll-off containers and started a mobile scrap metal service using a rail spur.

After several years, Michael’s son Mark and John’s son Kent joined the company in 1999 and 2004, respectively, and they continue to own 50% of the company today.

In 2010 more money was invested in procuring a truck scale and car baler, which helped the company flourish.

In 2013 they bought their first external scrap business, Williams Lake Scrap Metal Recycling, from Brent Judd and Wyatt Bednarz. The business was relocated to a new property with a rail spur and a large shop.

In September 2015, Central Salvage Ltd bought back the original Northwest in Kamloops from the Brigden family and renovated it in 2016.

In 2017, Hinton Scrap Metal was purchased from Schnitzer Steel. Mark’s brother Eric joined the company as a managing partner, a post he still holds today.

In 2020, Central Salvage Group was established and purchased Knox Mountain Metals. Jayden Herzog is currently managing it.

In 2021, CSL Group was formed as a parent organization to provide a cohesive management structure to the existing locations.

We began the construction of a new yard in Edson Alta at 723 54th St. South. In August 2021, our newest division, Allen’s Scrap Metal, was purchased. Clayton Moznik joined the Central Salvage Ltd ownership team due to this acquisition and is currently the general manager and part-owner of Prince George and Terrace operations. Later in 2021, Hinton and Edson of the Alberta division changed the business name to Rocky Mountain Salvage Inc.
